After recently opened innovative lifestyle and grocery stores like the ‘Store of the Future’ or Carrefour City+, Majid Al Futtaim revealed few days ago a new Carrefour BIO concept at City Centre Me’aisem.
In addition to the organic offer, the point of sale is a real sustainable model where everything has been thought to have a better impact on the planet while remaining a living space.

An eco-conscious offer
- The store is offering a variety of 3,000 organic food, beverage, personal and home care references including some from local producers, artisans and certified farms

- Carrefour BIO is also selling product ranges adapted to specific diets and with a reduced carbon footprint (keto, gluten-free, vegan, plant-based…)
- The retailer is going further by proposing ultra-local plants (salads, aromatics herbs…) which are grown inside the store thanks to an hydroponic farm

- The brand also implemented a coffee shop to enjoy 70% organic menus for breakfast, lunch or dinner
Zero waste and energy saving goal
- This concept fully answers to the Dubai new regulation and strategy regarding waste and plastic use, offering reusable and recycled paper bags to carry the products
- Moreover, the company is proposing refillable and bulk items (laundry liquids, cereals…) as well as some biodegradable packaging

- The store is also equipped with eco-friendly material to reduce energy consumption like R290 fridges which can save up to 15% of electric energy, connected digital product labels to avoid printing paper ones or recycled pallets
