Founded in 1992 by Majid Al Futtaim, the Emirati group based in Dubai is a leading retailer in the Middle East, Africa and Asia with activities in countries like the UAE, Armenia, Bahrain, China, Egypt, Georgia, Iraq, Jordan, Kenya, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar or Saudi Arabia.
Majid Al Futtaim (MAF) developed in various sectors from malls, retail and entertainment, to hotels, construction, energy and facilities management.

Retail activities
- MAF is operating the grocery brand Carrefour (since 1995) in 17 countries, with 375 stores, 750,000 customers daily and 500,000 managed product ranges. It also elaborated the automated checkout-free and organic food concepts Carrefour City+ and Carrefour Bio
- The holding has many lifestyle licencing rights with fashion, home furnishing and toys brands like Abercrombie & Fitch, AllSaints, CB2, Crate & Barrel, Lululemon Athletica, Hollister and LEGO Certified Stores (The Dubai Mall)
- Moreover, it developed its own lifestyle brands and concepts with THAT Concept Store (fashion, home furniture, beauty products and related services) or the ‘Store of the future’ (advanced technology store)
Malls & entertainment activities
- The group currently owns 29 shopping malls which represent 1 million m2 gross leasable area, over 178 millions visitors annually and 3,000 retailers

- MAF owns the brands Mall of the Emirates, Mall of Egypt, City Centre, My City Centre and Matajer, in which it developed its leisure entertainment concepts: Dreamscape (virtual reality (VR)), Magic Planet (attractions), Ski Dubai and Ski Egypt (indoor ski stations), Little Explorers (kid edutainment centre), iFLY Dubai (indoor skydiving) and VOX Cinemas
